Posted on August 3, 2020
Primary Health Tasmania has developed a toolkit to support general practice and other primary healthcare settings with COVID-19 pandemic preparedness and response.
The toolkit includes:
- a COVID-19 outbreak preparedness framework outlining considerations for staff, clinic layout, infection prevention and control
- information about implications for general practice and other primary healthcare settings during different phases of the COVID-19 pandemic response according to case numbers and risk level
- guidance around roles and responsibilities in the event a staff member becomes a confirmed case of COVID-19, outlining steps in case and contact management
- principles and protocols for managing patients with acute respiratory symptoms in general practice, including how to set up an isolation room and cleaning procedures.
