Psychological treatment services for people with mental illness living in Residential Aged Care Facilities
Have your say as part of our plan to commission psychological treatment services in Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACFs)
What are these services?
Primary Health Tasmania has received funding from the Australian Government to commission psychological treatment services for people with mental illness living in residential aged care facilities.
In collaboration with RACFs, the aim is to:
- improve access and support residents who are assessed as at risk of mental illness or who are diagnosed with mild to moderate mental illness to access mental health services like those available in the community
- increase innovation and provide services, within a stepped care framework, which are evidence based, time-limited psychological therapies delivered by mental health professionals or other service providers with training in delivering these therapies
Consultation forum for RACFs and key stakeholders
The psychological treatment services for residents with mental illness in RACFs will need to be adapted to the needs and environment of the residents.
Primary Health Tasmania is seeking your input in the design of these services that will be delivered by 1 July 2019.
