The training will be facilitated by an AGPAL experienced surveyor and will include a full day interactive workshop with presentations, activities, and group discussions where participants are encouraged to share their own experiences.
The workshop will focus on:
- The revised structure of the 5th edition Standards
- The purpose of the new edition
- Explanatory notes within the Standards
- Intent of the new indicators
- Suggested forms of evidence
- Mandatory and aspirational Indicators
- Mapping what has changed between the 4th and 5th edition Standards
Some of the key focus areas will include:
- Ethical dilemmas
- Open disclosure
- Business risk management systems
- Planning and setting business goals
- Social media policies
Activities will be completed throughout the day that are designed to assist participants in:
- Determining the intent of the new RACGP 5th edition Indicators
- Interpretation of Indicators flagged by AGPAL
- Considering ways their practice may already meet the new Indicators
- Identifying possible ways to meet the intent of the new Indicators
While this workshop will be relevant to the whole practice team, it will have a particular focus on how the Standards relate to the role of the practice nurse
