Apply now for free consumer registration to Tas Health Conference

Primary Health Tasmania believes the consumer perspective and community engagement is vital in making sure Tasmania’s health system is the best it can be.

To this end, we are inviting consumers to apply for free registration to this year’s Tasmanian Health Conference, which discusses health and social care in this state.

The annual conference will be held in Hobart on Saturday 4 August.

This year's theme is 'Our health: What does the future hold?', with sessions on digital health, health care and the health system. The program is online here.

Presenters and delegates include health professionals, service providers and policy makers from across the primary, community and acute care sectors as well as health and wellbeing peak bodies and community members.

In the interest of improving consumer involvement in discussion and improvement of our health system, this year Primary Health Tasmania is offering free registration to 10 consumers (full consumer registration is valued at $99).

Who can apply?

Successful applicants will be Tasmanian community members with a broad interest in ensuring our health system is working as well as possible for all Tasmanians, including through innovation and collaboration.

This free registration will be for individual consumers who are not able to have their registration fee reimbursed by their workplace or an organisation they are associated with.

How do I apply?

Simply email us with the following information:

  • your name
  • your town
  • up to 100 words explaining why you'd like to attend the conference
  • a contact phone number.

Applications close at 9am on Monday 2 July, and successful applicants will be notified by the end of that week. Applications that address the points above will be put into a hat and 10 selected.

At the end of the conference, successful applicants will be asked to fill in the evaluation form that all delegates receive, and to send us their three takeaway messages from the conference.

Successful applicants travelling from the north, north west or rural areas of the south can also apply for a $50 fuel voucher. Accommodation and other expenses are not covered.
