New report on cardiovascular disease in Tasmanian general practice

Posted on August 3, 2021

Primary Health Tasmania has published a report relating to Tasmanians with and at risk of cardiovascular disease who are cared for in general practice.

Data in the Cardiovascular disease in Tasmanian general practice report is drawn from an information-sharing network called the Primary Health Information Network, which includes roughly 75% of the state’s general practices.

The report also identifies opportunities for improved intervention and treatment of these patients.

Cardiovascular disease is an umbrella term that includes coronary heart disease; stroke and other vascular disease, ischaemic heart disease, and heart failure.
