This is the second in a series of two webinars where you will learn the principles of infection prevention and control principles with Margaret Jennings for the general practice setting. The series can be used as a refresher as well as for new staff or those working in administration.
This second event will cover body fluid spills management, clinical waste and sharps management, cleaning requirements covered by staff and the immediate response to a body exposure.

Margaret Jennings runs Marjen Education Services which provides infection prevention and control education and review to staff in the non-hospital setting. In 2014 she was invited by the Royal Australian College of General Practice to contribute to their 5th edition Infection Prevention and Control standards and has been approached to assist with a review for 2022. Margaret’s interest in infection prevention and control started many years ago when reviewing the use of chemical disinfectants. Later, when the national standard for instrument reprocessing was released, this sparked her interest in its application in office-based practice. Margaret is based in Melbourne and has worked has:

- worked in clinical and research microbiology laboratories
- lectured/tutored/demonstrated at tertiary level
- conducted clinical/sharps waste audits in Victorian hospitals
- completed a recognised course (Dept of Health and Human Services Vic) for pre/post HIV test
