This series of Emergency Medicine Education and Training events is focused on increasing connection with and capability of medical practitioners working in primary care to manage patients with urgent health needs and coordinate with hospital services to support patient care where appropriate.

This webinar is the 2nd in the series and will focus on: 

  • mental capacity assessment – refresher on how to do it, tips and pitfalls 
  • the Mental Health Act (Tasmania) – Protective Custody, Duty of Care, Assessment Orders 

The learning objectives for this webinar are:

  • Understand current criteria regarding when and how to perform a Mental Capacity assessment 
  • Differentiate between protective custody, duty of care and assessment order application
