The Emergency Medicine Education and Training (EMET) webinar series is focussed on increasing connection with and capability of medical practitioners working in primary care, to manage patients with urgent health needs and coordinate with hospital services to support patient care where appropriate.

This webinar is the 3rd in the series and will focus on falls in the older person; why do they happen and what can we mitigate.

Discussion will include:

  • Head strikes and blood thinners
  • Common limb injuries in older people
  • Chest trauma in older people
  • Following up older people after trauma

The learning objectives for this webinar are:

  • Understand current evidence on contributors to falls in older people and mitigable risk factors
  • Identify common injury patterns in older people and how to optimise recovery
