This online forum will feature cardiologist Dr Nathan Dwyer and GP and Tasmanian HealthPathways Clinical Editor Dr Graeme Bleach, presenting the new PCI and NSTEMI Follow-up Tasmanian HealthPathway, and facilitating an interactive discussion around changes to best practice.
It comes after cardiologists worked with Tasmanian HealthPathways to integrate and improve patient care across the continuum from acute to primary care, including new resources to support general practice about clinical best practice changes for people with acute coronary syndrome.
The changes intend to minimise the number of low-acuity patients having to travel to outpatients unnecessarily, and allow GPs to increase their role in their patients’ care. They also intend to free up appointments in cardiology outpatients to make it easier for urgent patients to be seen quickly.
