Primary Health Tasmania supports allied health professionals to play a leading role in improving the health and wellbeing of communities across the state.
As one of the largest clinical workforces in the country, allied health professionals are essential to delivering accessible, high-quality care in the primary health setting.
We are committed to recognising the contribution of allied health professionals and strengthening their integration within multidisciplinary teams.
Through collaboration with general practice, tailored support, and strategic investment, including commissioning and grant opportunities, we aim to equip allied health professionals to meet local needs and deliver coordinated, person-centred care.
Our focus on allied health integration is part of building a stronger, more connected primary healthcare system, where every Tasmanian can access the right care at the right time from the right service provider.
Allied Health Network Advisory Group
Our Allied Health Network Advisory Group is comprised of 15 Tasmanian allied health professionals working within the primary healthcare sector. Members meet quarterly to discuss sector-related issues and promote networking, collaboration and professional development.
The group promotes and coordinates person-centred primary health care, resulting in enhanced health outcomes for Tasmanians.
We encourage representation from a diverse range of allied health professions to expand our collective impact. This page will be updated with information about vacancies as they arise.

Digital tools and resources
Provider Connect Australia
Provider Connect Australia (PCA) is a secure national digital service that simplifies how you manage and share your practice and provider information across the health sector.
Primary Health Tasmania supports allied health providers to:
register with PCA
understand how it works
navigate set-up and ongoing use.
We offer one-on-one support and tailored guidance to reduce administrative burden and ensure your contact and referral information is accurate, consistent, and accessible across multiple systems.
With PCA, updates to your organisation’s details — such as practitioner availability, location, or contact details — are automatically shared with the National Health Services Directory and participating services, helping to save time and reduce errors.
My Health Record supports safer, better-connected care through the secure sharing of key health information across the healthcare system.
Primary Health Tasmania helps allied health professionals:
register for and access My Health Record
understand privacy, security, and consent requirements
confidently integrate My Health Record into clinical workflows.
Our team provides practical resources, tailored training, and expert advice to help you use My Health Record effectively and appropriately — supporting improved care coordination, continuity, and outcomes for your patients.

Free interpreting service
The Free Interpreting Service aims to provide equitable access to key services for people with limited or no English language proficiency. It is delivered by the national Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS National) on behalf of the Australian Government.
Pharmacies can access the service to provide community pharmacy services, and some privately employed allied health professionals working in the Hobart and Launceston areas can also use it. Please see here for eligible disciplines.
